"I like to work with certain shapes and gestures for a long time, sometimes developing the same image for months or years, often starting with sketches, then watercolors, monotypes on paper, and then on canvas. I like to see the variations in color, and how the colors relate to each other, and the energies of those variations next to each other. Sometimes I will put several variations of the same imagery in one work. Each monotype in a series or portfolio is a unique, individually made work."
